IN A SUSTAINABLE NEIGHBORHOOD

With sustainable and energy-efficient neighborhoods, BUWOG makes an important contribution to the fight against climate change. Our sustainability agenda: by 2024, we will increase the share of new apartments with renewable energy in our new construction projects in Germany from 25 percent to 35 percent. That means that more than one in three apartments will be supplied with renewable energy. In this context, we are pursuing ambitious climate protection targets and have an ISO 50001-compliant energy management system in place for our new-build business in Germany.

We are also making progress with the HAVELKIESEL and the HAVEL-SPEICHER in the BUWOG SPEICHERBALLETT neighborhood. Here too, the inner values behind the buildings are the right ones.

LOCATION MATTERS

Directly on the water, close to nature: The location of the BUWOG SPEICHERBALLETT neighborhood is ideal for taking various aspects of sustainability into account:

  • Energy savings through the use of solar energy: photovoltaic systems on the roofs
  • Greening with regionally adapted plants in the courtyards and green spaces
  • Water savings thanks to the collection of rainwater in the neighborhood’s own cisterns for use in flushing toilets
  • Promotion of electric mobility: underground parking with EV charging spaces
  • Social qualities: Barrier-free accessible outdoor spaces with seating and meeting areas
  • Social diversity for all generations
  • Harmonious mix of rental and owner-occupied apartments throughout the neighborhood
